Senior Director, Program Management

Abcuro, Inc. is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing protein-based treatments for serious autoimmune and cancer indications modulated by cytotoxic T and NK cells that express the inhibitory immune checkpoint receptor KLRG1 (killer cell lectin-like receptor G1). The company is advancing ABC008, a first-in-class anti-KLRG1 antibody designed to deplete cytotoxic T cells that attack healthy muscle tissue in patients with inclusion body myositis (IBM), into clinical studies.

POSITION SUMMARY

Abcuro, Inc. is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Director, Program Management to join our talented team. Reporting to our Chief Development Officer, the successful candidate will work with internal and external stakeholders to lead the key development program ABC008. Leveraging your deep knowledge of Program Management to help deliver novel therapeutics to patients will allow you to have a major impact on our mission.  The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative, fast-paced start-up environment, leveraging a high degree of integrity, creativity, and innovation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Foster strong relationships within the organization and serve as leader for program team members on project-related communication, issue identification/resolution, and management.
  • Facilitate effective collaboration and program meetings using meeting management best practices to drive cross-functional communication, timely and effective decision-making, and successful execution of program activities.
  • Mobilize and align the organization to drive decision-making and implement development and portfolio strategy
  • Effectively communicate with senior management on program strategy, progress, and timelines. Ensure key stakeholder relationship development and management.
  • Develop and maintain an integrated program plan (e.g., detailed Gannt, resources, etc.) encompassing key milestones and deliverables, leveraging input from all critical functions.
  • Prioritize and manage timelines cross-functionally
  • Support standardization of processes and communication(s) to build efficiencies within the company related to program management.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Sc. in life sciences; advanced degree or MBA preferred; some certification in project management is a plus.
  • Ten plus years of industry experience, including at least five years in an alliance/program leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of program management principles, tools, and practices.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with proven success influencing and leading cross-functional teams, fostering and nurturing teamwork, and acting as a facilitator to drive fulfillment of corporate strategic goals.
  • General understanding of cross functional drug development phases from preclinical through commercialization
  • Excellent formal and informal communication skills, including the ability to present to groups.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with Think-Cell or comparable timeline management tools, required.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguity and ability to help lead others through change.
